This is the rate of "program" read errors occurring when reading
data from a disk surface.
soft error :
A soft error is also a signal or datum which is wrong, but is not assumed
to imply such a mistake or breakage. After observing a soft error, there
is no implication that the system is any less reliable than before.
If detected, a soft error may be corrected by rewriting correct data in
place of erroneous data. Highly reliable systems use error correction to
correct soft errors on the fly.

The raw value of this attribute shows the total number of attempts to transfer
data from reallocated sectors to a spare area. Unsuccessful attempts are
counted as well as successful.
C5(197)Current Pending Sector Count現在異常があり、代替処理を待つセクタの総数。もし後で読み込みに成功したセクタがあれば、この値は減少する。
Current count of unstable sectors (waiting for remapping). The raw value of this attribute indicates the total number of sectors waiting for remapping. Later, when some of these sectors are read successfully, the value is decreased. If errors still occur when reading some sector, the hard drive will try to restore the data, transfer it to the reserved disk area (spare area) and mark this sector as remapped. If this attribute value remains at zero, it indicates that the quality of the corresponding surface area is low.
C6(198)Off-Line Scan Uncorrectable Sector Countオフラインスキャン時に発見された、回復不可能なセクタの総数。この値が増加する場合は、磁気ディスクの表面に問題がある。
Quantity of uncorrectable errors. The raw value of this attribute indicates the total number of uncorrectable errors when reading/writing a sector. A rise in the value of this attribute indicates that there are evident defects of the disk surface and/or there are problems in the hard disk drive mechanical subsystem.
C7(199)UltraDMA CRC Error CountUltraDMAモードでのデータ転送中に発生したCRCエラーの数。
The total quantity of CRC errors during UltraDMA mode. The raw value of this attribute indicates the number of errors found during data transfer in UltraDMA mode by ICRC (Interface CRC).
C8(200)Write Error Rate (Multi Zone Error Rate)セクターへのデータの書き込み中に発見されたエラーの総数。
この値が高い場合はメカニカル機構やディスク表面に問題がある。
Write data errors rate. This attribute indicates the total number of errors found when writing a sector. The higher the raw value, the worse the disk surface condition and/or mechanical subsystem is.
